Article 64 · AI Office

Text

The Commission shall develop Union expertise and capabilities in the field of AI through the AI Office.
Member States shall facilitate the tasks entrusted to the AI Office, as reflected in this Regulation.

Amended by Regulation (EU) 2026/1744 New paragraph 3: the AI Office is to be allocated adequate resources for enforcement.

Commentary

The Commission concentrates expertise and enforcement through the AI Office, which is at the same time the direct supervisor of general-purpose models.
